JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with the Art Director and others to establish dynamic visual effects systems and pipelines across a variety of projects
-
Create dramatic visual effects that bring our projects, levels and characters to life while ensuring that all required performance metrics are met
-
Collaborate with artists, programmers and animators to ensure that all effects
are realized with the highest possible fidelity and support each projects creative goals -
Implement particle and other fx systems that support the construction of a wide variety of level effects, working with designers to create rich and immersive experiences

Set dresses the level with ambient atmospheric effects and produces stunning scripted effects for impactful game moments
-
Creates textures to use in the particle effects using Photoshop and other 2D/3D applications
-
Provide creative and technical assistance in relation to all visual effects implementations
-
Provide department and production leads with responsible estimates for visual effects tasks and identify any risks to the effort
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum of 3 years in full-cycle AAA game development
-
Experience with at least one title from concept to final delivery

Demonstrated strong understanding of particle motion, timing, and scale
-
Ability to interpret and transform abstract ideas and concepts into compelling effects
-
Track record of working collaboratively between different departments
-
Demonstrated ability with at least one 3D particle editor/3D package
-
Excellent texture creation skills using Adobe Photoshop
-
Technical knowledge of and expertise in creating visual effects and rendering pipelines

Understanding of script/programming concepts

Optimize VFX effects to fit design and technical constraints

Working knowledge of industry standard rendering concepts and processes

Ability to act effectively in a dynamic development environment

Strong collaborative skills with the ability to communicate with a broad range of people

Creating natural phenomena, such as fire, smoke, explosions, dust, water, and weather systems for realistic and science fiction based effects

Capable of working on own initiative, identify problems and offer practical solutions
STAND OUT WITH BONUS FEATURES SUCH AS:

Experience working with real-time materials on next gen consoles

Experience with FumeFX, AfterEffects, Houdini, Maya fluids and rigid body dynamics

Previous experience of development for Virtual Reality
