
Senior Technical Artist
First Contact Entertainment is seeking a passionate Senior Technical Artist to join our Technical Art Department. The ideal candidate has experience working within the constraints of Real-time engines, has passion for problem solving, and can take technical direction along with art requests to achieve the most appropriate solution.
Job Responsibilities

Technical Research and Development in Unreal

Create tools to streamline unique workflows

Diagnose and remedy performance issues
-
Optimize to balance performance and visual quality
-
Provide responsible estimates for tasks and identify any risks to efforts
-
Identify opportunities to incorporate new ideas and technologies that will increase efficiencies and level up visual quality

Resolve Art Department technical issues as they arise
-
Mentor Art team members on new tools
Required Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years in full-cycle AAA Real-time development
-
Advanced in at least three of UE4’s systems: Materials, Blueprints, Animation Blueprints, Visual Effects, Rigging, Cloth, Audio, Blutilities, UMG, Packaging / Builds, etc

Demonstrated ability to problem solve difficult and multilayered issues

Demonstrated ability to dig out and resolve deep seated bugs
-
Demonstrated ability to find and optimize bottlenecks

Python / Mel Scripting

Documentation

Advanced technical knowledge of modern Real-time art pipelines from concept to engine

Generalist art skill set sufficient for self contained R&D

Interest in future technologies

Basic 3d math
