Associate Producer

First Contact Entertainment is looking for a smart and passionate Associate Producer with an eye for detail and a passion for creating incredible VR experiences. This person will play a key role in keeping our developments focused, updating and tracking planning data and ensuring smooth information flow across the team. To succeed, they will need to be an excellent communicator and be organized and diligent, even under pressure.

We are building genre-defining experiences for next-generation consoles and VR and the right individual will demonstrate a clear passion for working in a dynamic team on novel and frequently innovative experiences.

Job Description

As an Associate Producer you are a vital part of our Production team and responsible for tracking and updating our development plans. This requires frequent interaction with all parts of the team and you demonstrate the ability to interact with a variety of people and roles on a daily basis.


Keeping abreast of development activities, you collate development data frequently and update tasks, progress and status information in Jira and Confluence. You perform a critical role ensuring that both project and studio leadership are accurately informed of team progress.


Working across the development team, you proactively identify opportunities to improve or streamline our processes and work flows to ensure that our development effort is efficient and well organized.


You are an excellent communicator and diligent in ensuring that all parts of the team are kept aware of decisions and priorities that affect them. Problems or ‘blockers’ are quickly identified and resolved, through collaboration and clear communication.


You are a positive and highly motivated individual who enjoys solving problems, helping others overcome obstacles and delivering cutting edge console and VR experiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other Producers to ensure that tasks are well-defined, correctly assigned and prioritized

  • Ensure documentation and planning activities are kept up to date

  • Act as a liaison, coordinating multiple disciplines such as Engineering, Art, Audio, Animation, Design, and QA, in order to complete complex tasks and objectives

  • Facilitate discussion and note-taking for team meetings

  • Support production and creative leadership meeting project goals

  • Liaise closely with QA to ensure that testing is well focused and that issues are promptly and correctly communicated

  • Proactively identify problems or ‘blockers’ that affect the team's ability to meet objectives. Work with other team members to resolve these issues.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the video game industry, preferably working on console and/or VR

  • Knowledge of game development processes and practice, especially agile processes and familiarity with the requirements of console development

  • Experience defining, assigning, tracking and reporting tasks in a complex development environment

  • Working knowledge of Perforce, Jira and Confluence

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to take on any task, no matter how small, to support the team

  • You have shipped at least one full game project in the role of Associate Producer or 2-3 games in a senior QA role.
